Entrepreneur facing jail over brawl with officer; Court hears of clash with off-duty policemen.
THE son of one of Britain's wealthiest men is facing jail for his role in a brawl which left an off-duty police officer with a fractured eye socket.
Entrepreneur George Panayiotou, 26, who was behind the ultra-exclusive PS2m PlayGround nightclub at Liverpool's Hilton hotel, was involved in a disturbance on a night out in London.
Panayiotou, who also appeared in reality show Desperate Scousewives, appeared in court alongside his brother Costas, 24.
Their dad Andreas Panayiotou, 47, a property magnate said to be worth around PS500m, was in attendance at Southwark Crown Court.
The sons, joined by friends Christopher Stavrou, 28, and Yiannaki Stavrou, 30, clashed with a group of off-duty officers leaving a Christmas party in Soho last November.
Gavin Collins was left with an impacted fracture to his cheek and eye socket, while colleague Matthew Hollands was repeatedly punched and kicked to the ground.
An unidentified man getting into his car with his girlfriend was also hit but drove off before he could give a statement.
Join the Facebook book.com/ Prosecutor Michael Hall told the court how five off-duty officers were leaving their Christmas do in Soho.
He said: "They walked down Piccadilly and they are met, on the other side of the road, with these four defendants walking up Piccadilly.
"Two of the defendants are playfighting, or fighting, it's hard to tell.
"While they are fighting, one pushes the other towards the road.

"George Panayiotou then summons his three friends, who have turned the corner into Glasshouse Street.
"He calls them back and they then run over the road, where George Panayiotou and Christopher Stavrou confront Matthew Hollands.
"A couple are making their way north up the same street on the pavement from Piccadilly.
"The gentleman of that couple walks towards his car, which parked on the road. With that the first defendant, Costas Panayiotou, comes between two parked cars and punches the unknown male, then punches the off-duty officer [Collins], knocking him immediately to the ground. Either the punch or his impact with the ground causes an impacted fracture of his cheek and eyesocket that required surgery and fixing of titanium plates and screws. Thereafter, Yiannaki Stavrou runs across the road and punches the other officer [Hollands] from behind.
"Christopher Stavrou and Costas Panayiotou punch him as he retreats back down Regent Street towards Swallow Street.
"Mr Hollands is then set upon by all four, punching and kicking, at one stage finding himself on the ground.
"Doorstaff from nearby clubs eventually break it up and the defendants run back down Regent Street."
The Panayiotou brothers and the Stavrou brothers, who all live in Barnet, London, admitted affray.
They will be sentenced on May 2.
