Enter the Fray as Charlton's filly can be a real Thoroughbred in Newmarket Handicap.
FRAY can shrug off a 7lb hike in the weights to hit the target once again in the Thoroughbred Breeders' Association EBF Stallions Fillies' Handicap at Newmarket.
Roger Charlton's filly boasts a nice bit of form in that she was beaten just over five lengths by all-conquering filly Taghrooda last year on her debut before following up with her own maiden success at Newmarket at the backend of last term.
While Fray is clearly not of Taghrooda's calibre she showed she has ability of her own when making a successful belated handicap start, again at Headquarters, last month.
Racing off a mark of 74, she made light work of her six rivals, winning by upwards of three lengths without ever really being put under serious pressure.
The handicapper clearly did not miss her potential as she has since shot up the ratings, but Fray looked to have plenty more in the locker that day and is still on an upwards curve.
Go Far can make it a swift double for Alan Bailey in the PS10 Free Bet At 32RedSport.com Handicap.
The four-year-old had been knocking on the door all season but finally enjoyed his moment in the spotlight when beating Zanetto by five lengths at Yarmouth last week. He must shoulder a 6lb penalty for that success but that does not appear too harsh and he could easily rack up a bit of a sequence with a nice confidence-booster under his belt.
Beach Samba hails from a family of precocious types and is definitely one to watch in the Firestone Building Products Maiden Stakes, particularly as Ed Dunlop has booked Frankie Dettori for the ride.
