A new series from Enslow Publishers is specifically designed to showcase six major "kid friendly" holidays through a series of do-it-yourself holiday crafts projects. Young readers ages 8 to 9 and grade levels 3 and 4 will learn the story behind the holiday while the easy to make, inexpensive, and minimal adult supervision required crafts projects are as fun as they are holiday themed. Each of the six titles comprising the "Fun Holiday Crafts Kids Can Do!" series is 32 pages, illustrated with color photographs, utilizes simple language printed in large and readable type, offers step-by-step instructions for each craft project, and is enhanced with a bibliography for further reading suggestions, internet addresses, and an index. At $17.95 each, the holiday titles include Christmas Crafts (0766022579); Halloween Crafts (0766022366); Hanukkah Crafts (0766022382); Kwanzaa Crafts (076602203X); St. Patrick's Day Crafts (0766022560); and Valentine's Day Crafts (0766022374). Although available individually, school and community libraries are encouraged to acquire the entire series for their activities collections.
