Enrique Gil returns to 'tweenie-tweenie' role.
Kapamilya heartthrob Enrique Gil is going back to teenybopper roles via the new fantasy drama "Mirabella."
The 21-year-old actor deemed that it would be "something fresh and something new" for him as his roles on "Muling Buksan Ang Puso" and "She's The One" were "medyo mature nang konti."
"Gusto kong gawin ito ('Mirabella') para makabalik sa tweenie-tweenie," he added.
In the series, Enrique plays the role of Jeremy, a high schooler with impaired vision. He will fall in love with Mira, played by Julia Barretto, a girl cursed with wood-like skin texture.
Enrique enjoys working with Julia saying, "Nagulat nga ako sobrang bilis ng pag-click namin."
He describes her as "fabulous," very much like a young version of her aunt Gretchen Barretto, whom he got the chance to work with on "Princess and I."
He said, "Parehas silang fabulous sa lahat, whatever they do, gusto nila prim and proper, masaya, makulit, napakabait. Mas makulit pa nga sila kaysa sa akin eh."
The actor admires Julia's cheerful attitude.
"Sweetheart talaga siya. Parang naiisip ko na wala siyang kaaway sa mundo. Napaka-bubbly, laging naka-smile, basta masayahing tao talaga," he shared.
Meanwhile, Enrique wants to put an end to rumors linking him to sexy actress Bangs Garcia.
Speculations about two being supposedly in a romantic relationship emerged last December with Bangs posting on Instagram a photo of herself with Enrique in Tokyo Disneyland.
The actor clarified that the trip was just for work.
"Matagal na iyan. Wala talaga. Matagal na matagal na iyon," he stressed. "Nagkita kasi kami sa Tokyo, nakipag-raketan kami. Trabaho lang 'yun, so wala talaga. Hindi (kami naging close), pag-uwi wala na. Wala talaga."
Enrique maintained that he is still very much single.
