S1 pupils at Dumfries Academy recently enjoyed a series of workshops delivered by Live 'n' Learn.
Moving to secondary can be a big step and the workshops were aimed at building skills including confidence, teamwork, resilience and ambition.
During the workshops, pupils learned about famous people who had overcome barriers to success, as well as taking part in fun activities to improve confidence.
They also set their own goals and ambitions, which they will continue to focus on as part of the S1 curriculum in school.
The pupils were a credit to themselves and the school and we can't wait to see them realise their ambitions here at Dumfries Academy.
Scottish Ballet Pupils at Dumfries Academy were visited by a representative from the Scottish Ballet for an exclusive workshop on ballet technique, style and character creation.
The workshop was thoroughly enjoyed by all participants and pupils actually got to learn some of the moves that the dancers perform on stage in their current run of The Crucible.
Miriam, the workshop leader, was so impressed with the work ethic, determination and skill of the pupils involved and is keen to come back and work with them again.
The kids represented the school so well whilst also developing and trying out a new skill.
