Engineers take 150,000 sf at 1 Penn Plaza

In one of this year's largest real estate leasing transactions in Manhattan's Penn Plaza corridor, Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation has signed a long-term lease for approximately 150,000 square feet at One Penn Plaza. The firm has been a tenant in the building since 1973.

The tenant was represented by its real estate consultant and broker, Charles L. Goldenberg, president and CEO, Sylvan Lawrence Company, Inc. The landlord, Mid-City Associates was represented in this transaction by Alvin Schwartz, executive vice president; John B. Trainor, Jr., senior vice president; and Daniel E. North, vice president, HelmsleySpear, Inc., agent of the property.

Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation provides engineering, design, construction, consulting and full environmental services for power, industrial, governmental, transportation and civil works projects. The Company serves the energy industries and others that develop and produce chemicals, pharmaceuticals, foods and beverages, pulp, paper and industrial goods. It has been especially active in construction management for major municipal sludge dewatering facilities.
