Energy transfer finalizes transportation agreement.

The Dallas-based Energy Transfer Co. has entered into a long-term gas transportation agreement with Anadarko Energy Services Co. to move natural gas from Anadarko's Bossier Trend in East Texas to the Katy Hub in Katy, TX.

Last year, Energy Transfer made public its plans to build a 70-mile large-diameter pipeline from its existing pipeline facilities in Grimes County into strategic East Texas central gathering locations in Robertson, Limestone, and Freestone counties and the surrounding area. The agreement provides Anadarko with firm capacity in Energy Transfer's new 36-inch pipeline, which is expected to be put into service in June. Anadarko, which gathers the majority of its own production in East Texas, will deliver the gas to Energy Transfer at mutually agreeable points of delivery in Freestone County.

The expansion will have an initial capacity of 650 MMcf/d, expandable to 1 Bcf/d. The expansion has an estimated cost of $60 million.
