EnerSys (NYSE: ENS), a company involved in stored energy solutions for industrial applications, has completed the acquisition of certain assets of United States-based The Enser Corporation.

Enser is a manufacturer of molten salt 'thermal' batteries used in powering a multitude of electronics, guidance, and other electrical loads on many of the current advanced weapon systems. The company's proprietary lithium silicon cobalt disulphide chemistry is claimed to offer superior performance and increased power density required for new strategic defence weapons and precision guided weapon systems.

The acquisition of Enser is intended to provide EnerSys with additional technologies, expanded relationships with major aerospace and defence customers, and opportunities for additional synergies within its lithium businesses.
