EASTENDERS actress Samantha Womack has told how she sympathised with a "vulnerable" man who stalked her and even sent him her love.
Samantha, whose character Roni Mitchell is being stalked in the BBC One soap, said: "I did have my own personal experience a while ago. He was this guy that I felt bad for. He was quite vulnerable and someone that got a bit confused. I wished him well and hoped he was OK.
"I wasn't scared and with people like that I just want to send them my love and make sure they're OK."
Samantha spotted a stalker outside her home last year. In December she gave a statement to Great Yarmouth magistrates and said: "I can't stop thinking about it."
Peter Rombough, 22, of Ditchingham, Norfolk, was given an eight-week jail term suspended for two years after pleading guilty to stalking.
Speaking at the Cole Kitchenn Manage-ment party, Samantha paid tribute to Dame Barbara Windsor.
Babs, 78, has returned to Albert Square temporarily to give her iconic landlady character Peggy Mitchell a final farewell.
Samantha said: "It's really hard to let Barbara go. Barbara is a part of my life there and is instrumental in my family and in EastEnders. Watching her walk away is like losing an arm - it really is like losing a limb. There were many tears off set and we were all quite emotional.
"She did these moving scenes and I just looked at her and she looked so graceful and so beautiful."
