Ems roll doubles to top Spokane.

SPOKANE - Miguel Amaya and Chris Singleton each hit three-run doubles in the fourth inning to lift the Eugene Emeralds to an 8-5 victory over the Spokane Indians on Friday night.

The Ems scored seven runs in all in the fourth inning to take a 7-1 lead.

The victory moved the Ems (5-4) into a tie atop the South Division with first-half winner Hillsboro

Ramsey Romano added a run on a sacrifice fly that scored Jared Young in the seventh for the Ems.

Curtis Terry hit a pair of home runs for Spokane, two-run shots in both the fourth and eighth innings, but the Indians couldn't close the gap.

The Ems made the most of their six hits, two each by Jared Young and Brandon Hughes. Terry had two hits and drove in four runs for Spokane.

Carson Sands, the second of five Ems pitchers, earned the victory despite allowing three earned runs in two innings.

Brian Glowicki pitched a perfect ninth to earn his third save of the season.
