Employees rally for Canada 3000.

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2001 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Employees of collapsed airline Canada 3000 called on the Canadian government to come to their rescue yesterday (12 November).

Canada 3000 halted flights late last week, putting 4,400 people out of work, and had a bankruptcy trustee appointed.

Employees are upset over what they see as the federal government's failure to protect jobs and competition in the Canadian airline industry. They held rallies to protest, however many were cancelled or toned down after the crash of an American Airlines aircraft in New York, Reuters reported.
