Empirix acquires WRQ's Holistix subsidiary.

The US-based test and monitoring systems developer Empirix Inc has acquired the assets of Holistix Inc, a wholly-owned subsidiary of WRQ Inc.

Holistix has developed a suite of web performance management software and services that enable web operations managers to detect, respond to and prevent problems that can affect the quality of experience for users of e-business web applications. The agreement gives Empirix exclusive rights to all Holistix's products, effective immediately. The company will also assume support for all Holistix's existing customers.

Empirix's current performance management systems, e-Monitor for inside the firewall transaction monitoring and a hosted remote monitoring service called FarSight, will be integrated with Holistix's technology into a new performance management solution that will be unveiled in 4Q'2001.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
