This book is a compilation of more than 50 articles from the first 15 issues of the Journal of Cost Management. Articles were written by both academicians and practitioners on the practice and theory of cost management. More than 60 contributing authors took part in the book which is grouped into 10 chapters. Subjects covered by chapter include: activity-based costing, implementing activity-based costing, cost management systems, cost planning and control, Japanese cost management techniques, computer integrated manufacturing (CIM) and flexible manufacturing systems (FMS), product costing, quality cost management, performance measurement and strategic cost management. Relevant cases and industries are also covered.
