Email: SEAL GOES CRAZY TO COMPLETE NEW CD.
IT'S 14 years since Seal, left, shot to fame with his first solo hit, Crazy.
But the charismatic singer nearly took the song's title literally while working on his latest album.
The star has revealed he almost went off his rocker struggling to write material for the new CD Seal IV.
'In 1999, I began writing songs but scrapped them all after two years because they lacked conviction,' Seal told me.
'I played them to friends for a reaction. It wasn't what they said... it was what they DIDN'T say.
'I knew then they weren't good enough and had to start from scratch all over again.
'I then hit my most prolific period, in which I wrote 75 songs and chose the best ones. That meant I had more than 60 tracks left over.
'But I won't use any of them on my next record. I'm always striving for perfection. I don't think any of them are good enough to be heard.'
The album was produced by his mentor Trevor Horn and features the new single, Waiting For You.
Seal appears at the Clyde Auditorium in Glasgow on March 19 as part of a UK tour.
