Elves on a toys run.

SANTA'S special elves are collecting unwanted toys for a Christmas fancy dress charity fun run in aid of terminally ill children.

Instead of a fun run entry fee, the elves will be collecting the toys to be sold at Acorns Children's Hospice shops across the Midlands.

Runners and walkers who want to take part can dress as Santa, an elf, reindeer, snowman or anything festive to bring their toys to Shirley on Saturday, November 15.

The run, organised by Birmingham Hash House Harriers, starts at noon from the Drawbridge pub in Majors Green.

Harrier Geoff Owen said: "Instead of the usual entry fee, we decided to ask for at least one toy or game in good condition."
