Elsie Marie Haley, 79.

STOCKHOLM, ME Elsie Marie Haley, 79 died June 1, 2007. She was born in Stockholm December 1, 1927 the daughter of John and Anna (Larson) Sjostedt. She attended the Stockholm Grade School, was the Valedictorian of the 1945 Class at Caribou High School and was also a graduate of Smith College. Mrs. Haley received her PH.D from Purdue University. In 1953 Elsie Marie was selected as Miss Stockholm USA, and had the honor of traveling to Sweden, where she was privileged to meet the King of Sweden. She taught social rehabilitation classes at Assumption College in Worcester, Mass. for many years.

She is survived by her two sons Michael Haley of New York, N.Y. and Charles Haley of Ft. Collins, CO. One brother Richard Sjostedt of Sacramento, Ca. One sister Beatrice Page of Stockholm. Many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held Tuesday June 5, 2007 at the Stockholm Cemetery.
