The head of Elmhurst College's Department of Religious Studies, Paul Parker, will discuss "God & Politics in the Holy Land," a look at current conditions in Israel and Palestine, during a presentation next week in Wheaton.
Parker will speak at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, at First Presbyterian Wheaton, 715 North Carlton Ave.
Parker teaches courses focused on relevant issues related to the region and leads public tours annually to Israel and Palestine, most recently over the summer. He has spent significant time in the region and has lived in Jerusalem during his last two sabbaticals.
He will be addressing the situation on the ground this year compared to his 2017 trip, and what might be possible concerning the peace process.
The presentation is free and open to the public. Donations will support medical and educational efforts in the region.
