Elland Probus Club hears about need for a proper will.

A TALK on will making was given to members of Elland (Men's) Probus Club.

Several of the members took up speaker John Mumford's offer of a free consultation.

Mr Mumford's theme was the problems of having only a basic death will, arguing that additional steps need to be taken to ensure that bequests actually went to the people intended, and the need to review a will which might have been written 20 or 30 years ago.

Other subjects touched on by Mr Mumford, of Estate Planners Ltd, included protection against care fees, family trusts, lasting powers of attorney and pre-paid funeral plans.

President David Hardcastle chaired the meeting.

The next meeting, being held on Tuesday, June 7, will hear from David Allen, who will talk about the history of silver hallmarking.
