Elk's Midwest Master Distribution Center Opens; Super-Sized Warehouse Houses Elk's Roofing and Decking Lines.
The mega-center is Elk's largest covered storage facility in the country. Products are shipped in from Elk plants across the United States and stored at the Master Distribution Center allowing for distribution of a wider variety of products and faster delivery service to the surrounding states. Elk's CrossTimbers(TM) composite decking material, RailWays(TM) railing systems and all asphalt shingle lines can now be ordered and shipped quickly from one facility and out on the same truck to the areas serviced by the Master Distribution Center.
"The opening of the Master Distribution Center solidifies our ongoing commitment to providing the best customer service in the building products industry. Our Midwest customers will benefit greatly from the speedy service and breadth of products provided through this facility. This location allows us to better meet our customers' needs and offers a new service that gives them greater access to our entire product line from one location," said Curt Barker, ElkCorp senior vice president of sales and marketing for ElkCorp.
The new Master Distribution Center will service customers in Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and the upper peninsula of Michigan.
