Elite Hope has best credentials.
Trained by Nigel Tinkler, the mare gained a deserved win over course and distance earlier this month, beating
C-Harry by three-quarters of a length, but having more in hand than the official margin suggests.
Back in similar grade, everything looks in her favour today, and a follow-up looks very much on the cards.
David Barron can land a Wolverhampton double as Internal Affair looks the one to beat in the Dog Cart Claiming Stakes (2.30), and Bedevilled is an interesting runner in the DAD Handicap (3.00).
The former has gained all his career wins at Wolverhampton, the latest being earlier this month when he landed a claimer over today's trip. Although beaten in a handicap at Southwell last week, he wasn't entirely disgraced considering he lost ground at the start, and he will be seen to much better advantage back in a claimer.
Bedevilled, who won a Beverley maiden over five furlongs on the turf last summer, ran a promising race over six furlongs at Southwell last week when second to Rafters Music.
He seemed to find the trip a bit too far there, because he faded in the last furlong after showing up with the pace. Back to five furlongs today, he should give a good account of himself in a competitive event.
LEICESTER: 2.10 Fair And Fancy.
WOLVERHAMPTON: 2.30 Internal Affair, 3.00 Bedevilled, 3.30 Dontbesobold, 4.00 Elite Hope (nap).
