Lahore -- Chief Minister Punjab Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif said that eradicating child labor from brick kilns was his mission.
CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif presided over the meeting held here on Saturday to review the progress on initiatives taken by the government for eliminating child Labour from brick kilns.
Addressing the meeting, he said that in the event of violation of child labor laws, not only the kiln would be sealed but the owner of the kiln would also go to jail.
He said that stipend amounting to Rs 1000 per month would be granted to school going children who are working on kilns at the start of academic session this year. Uniform, stationery, books and shoes would also be provided to them free of cost, he added. The parents of these children would be granted stipend amounting to Rs 2000 for sending them to schools.
