Eli Wilner & Company Frames the Most Expensive Painting Ever Sold by Female Artist Frida Kahlo.

NEW YORK -- First graph, first sentence should read: ...was tapped by Sotheby's to loan a frame for exhibition, the masterpiece "Roots", painted by Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. (sted: ...was tapped by Sotheby's to loan a frame for exhibition the most valuable work by a female painter, "Roots", painted by Mexican artist Frida Kahlo.)

The corrected release reads:

Eli Wilner & Company, the world's largest resource for antique American and European frames was tapped by Sotheby's to loan a frame for exhibition, the masterpiece "Roots", painted by Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. The 1943 painting fetched a record 5.6 million dollars at auction, making this a record sale for Kahlo and a new record for a Latin American work of art at auction. "Roots," shows the artist reclining in a bright orange dress with leafy roots growing out of her body into the ground, a symbol of being nourished by the earth. This marks the second time Eli Wilner & Company has risen to the challenge and framed for exhibition a work of art that reached record sales. Eli Wilner & Company recently framed for Sotheby's "Dora Maar au chat", a Picasso which sold for more than $95,000,000 dollars in May.

"We value the trust that Sotheby's puts in Eli Wilner & Company and its rare selection of frames," says Eli Wilner, founder and CEO of Eli Wilner & Company. "We feel honored to have framed this beautiful piece and ultimately be a part of this historic sale." For a more detailed description concerning the sale, please visit
