It was reported on Thursday that US-based Eli Lilly and Company has signed a settlement agreement with companies intending to produce generic versions of the drug Cialis.
The settlement has been signed to resolve pending patent litigation in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia regarding the Cialis (tadalafil) unit dose patent. This patent was earlier set to expire on 26 April 2020.
Under the contract, Cialis exclusivity is now likely to end at the earliest on 27 September 2018.
