Electronic voting for next board election.

The board of directors met on March 3, 2003 and approved the amendments to the TAPPI Bylaws allowing electronic balloting in annual Association elections, which will be in effect for the 2003-04 board election.

The new amendment allows members the option of casting ballots electronically. Electronic balloting will not take the place of traditional letter ballots, but will simply be an economic, convenient option for those members who might prefer to cast their ballots electronically.

Paper ballots will be mailed to all members in late November. Members will have the choice of voting online or on paper. The online ballot will be a replication of the paper ballot. If a member chooses to cast an electronic ballot, he or she will be notified of future ballots via e-mail and will riot be mailed a paper ballot.
