Electoral alliance with PPP out of question: Asfandyar.

ISLAMABAD -- The Awami National Party (ANP) leader, Asfandyar Wali , says an electoral alliance with Pakistan People's Party (PPP) in the upcoming polls is out of question, Geo News reported.

"We will contest the general elections solo. ANP will not join forces with PPP or any other political party for the same as it did in the last vote", said he talking to Salim Safi in Geo News program "Jirga."

To a question, he said ANP allied with PPP so that the democracy could endure.

"The only reason behind our going into a coalition with PPP was the survival of democracy and nothing more", said he.

Governor Balochistan, Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi taken notice of the ongoing protest of the teachers recruited under the Aghaz Haqooq Balochistan for making them permanent.

According to an official hand out issued here on Monday, the Governor has directed to the Chief Secretary, Babar Yaqoob Fateh Muhammad, Secretary Education and Secretary Finance to furnish a detailed case to the federal government with regard to the demand of the teachers' making permanent.

The Governor has assured that the issue of making teachers' permanent would also be submitted in the combined council of interests.

The Governor said that the sympathies of the provincial government are with the teachers recruited under the AHBP and we want to resolve it with sincerity, so the teachers should also end their protest demonstrating patience.

Meanwhile, the protesting teachers ended their eight-day long protest on the assurance given by the Governor the same night.

Earlier, the teachers had lodged strong protest and staged a sit-in at Hockey chowk on Zarghoon road for around eight hours.

The children of the teachers also took part in the protest. The Balochistan government has decided to take action against the Afghan refugees residing in different parts of the province without valid registration.

The decision to this effect was made during a meeting chaired by the Secretary Home Captain (r) Akbar Hussain Durrani here on Monday on the issue of repatriation of the unregistered refugees.
