Elderly couple died of natural causes.

AN ELDERLY couple who were found dead at their home this week died of natural causes, a postmortem examination has concluded.

Police were called to the house in Ynyswen Road, Treorchy, on Tuesday where Mary, 77, and Anthony Jenkins, 78, were found dead.

Their deaths were initially treated as unexplained by police but a post-mortem examination carried out on Thursday revealed the deaths were due to natural causes.

Neighbours expressed their shock and sadness of the couple's deaths.

Neighbour Bryant Keddie, 49, said: "It's a real shame and so sad.

"Everyone here is so shocked, they were well liked.

"Mary was often out and about but her husband was quieter.

"The first I knew about it was seeing that there were police outside."

Another neighbour, on Ynyswen Road, Treorchy, who did not want to be named, said: "I'm gutted for their family - it wasn't their time."
