El premio ASCAP 2003.

On Tuesday, April 29th, the 11th Annual ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) Latin Music Awards took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, as the black-tie affair celebrated the achievements of Latin music creatives in the fields of Tropical, Pop/Baladas, Rock en Espanol and Regional Mexican, among others.

For the second consecutive year, the "ASCAP Composer of the Year Award" was awarded to Joan Sebastian. This year's "ASCAP Latin Heritage Award" was bestowed upon Puerto Rican singer Olga Tanon for her numerous contributions and enrichment to the world of Latin music. "Publisher of the Year Award" went to Sony Music Publishing. The "Songs of the Year Award" was presented to Entra En Mi Vida (composed by Nahuel Schajris and interpreted by the group Sin Bandera) and Y Tu Te Vas (composed by Franco De Vitas and interpreted by Chayanne).

The "Tropical Songs of the Year Award" went to La Agarro Bajando (composed by Carlos Javier Montes Quilles and interpreted by Gilberto Santa Rosa) and Te Quiero Igual Que Ayer (composed by Wilfran Castillo and interpreted by Monchy y Alexandra). Other Tropical songs honored included: La Salsa Vive (Tito Nieves), Hasta Que Vuelvas Conmigo (Marc Anthony), Luna Nueva (Carlos Vives), Un Beso (Grupo Mania), En Nombre De Los Dos (Victor Manuelle) and La Negra Tiene Tumbao (Celia Cruz).

"Rock Song of the Year Award" went to Angel De Amor, composed by Alejandro Gonzalez Trujillo and Jose Fernando Olvera Sierra and interpreted by the group Mana. "Pop/Ballad Songs of the Year Awards" was given to Quitame Ese Hombre (composed by Jorge Luis Piloto and interpreted by Pilar Montenegro) and Usted Se Me Llevo La Vida (composed by Donato Poveda and interpreted by Alexandre Pires).

"Regional Mexican Song of the Year Award" honors went to Juro Por Dios, composed by Javier Zazueta Larranaga and interpreted by Banda Tierra Blanca.
