El Coto de Rioja Paella Parade[TM] Gets Underway -- Second Time 'Round!

Celebrate Spain's Foods with EL COTO DE RIOJA Wines

NEW YORK -- Once again, the El Coto de Rioja Paella Parade[TM] will enlighten many Tempranillo and rice fans with the best in typical Spanish food and Rioja wines. On Monday, June 7, 2010 from 6pm to 9pm, the second annual El Coto de Rioja Paella Parade will take place outdoors at the South Street Seaport location of New York Water Taxi Beach.

Ten New York Metro area chefs and restaurateurs will once again celebrate Spain during this unique event showcasing and highlighting Paella--the national dish of Spain--and El Coto de Rioja wines, Spain's wine leader in the Rioja region. The ticket price will be $35 per person ($60 for 2) and will be available for purchase at watertaxibeach.com: https://t3.clicknprint.com/tix/SilverStream/Pages/pgIndex.html?siteID=1850. Paella enthusiasts will get a chance to savor sample portions of the Paellas presented as well taste a selection of El Coto de Rioja wines, imported by Frederick Wildman & Sons. As last year, a portion of the ticket proceeds will go to Action Against Hunger, a global humanitarian organization committed to eliminating world hunger, and the Wine Course at the Department of Hospitality Management at New York City College of Technology.

Throughout the evening, gourmets and gourmands alike will witness chefs in action and taste their culinary results. Chefs and restaurants slated to participate thus far, are: Tapeo 29, Solera, Restaurant Lizarran, Copa, Don Pedro's, La Paella, La Bottega, San Martin and Yerba Buena/Toloache. At 8pm, an El Coto de Rioja Paella Parade Panel consisting of press as well as TV Food Network host, Daisy Martinez, will announce, in the spirit of friendly competition, the winners in the following categories: Most Creative Paella; Best Use of Ingredients in a Paella; Best Overall Taste; and finally, the winner of El Coto de Rioja Paella Parade Pleaser will be determined by the public in attendance.
