Ekelundh's late surge seals Open.

Sweden's Cecili Ekelundh clinched her third victory on the Ldies' Europen Tour with finl-round 70t the Ldies' English Open Chrt Hills in Kent.

Locl fvourite Dnielle Msters (pictured) birdied the 18th for 70 nd ws the leding British plyer in third plce on four under pr, two shots behind Ekelundh, whose two previous wins cme in Portugl.

Ekelundh hd strted the finl round tied with Denmrk's mnd Moltke-Leth nd the pir were still joint leders with just three holes left to ply.

But the long 16th proved the key to victory the 28-yer-old Swede mde birdie four while Moltke-Leth, who ws seeking her brekthrough victory on the Europen Tour, drove into trouble nd rn up double-bogey seven. She went on to shoot 73 nd finished fourth.

Msters opened with bogey the first hole but went on to crd four birdies for her best result in two sesons on tour. "It ws gret to do well this week becuse I'm ttched to Chrt Hills nd hd lods of fmily nd friends here to support me," sid the 23-yer-old from nerby Pembury.

"Mking the birdie the lst ws very specil."

Yorkshire's Rebecc Hudson, winner in Hungry in July, hd fine lst-dy 69 nd finished in tie for fifth plce on two under pr. Wles' nn Highgte ws shot behind fter 76.

Germny's Mrtin Eberl, with closing 70, finished second, one behind Ekelundh's six under pr winning total.
