Eilish can't do a rerun with track legend Liz; ATHLETICS.

Eilish McColgan will be out to take on all-comers at the world indoor championships in Poland but the Scots star says there's no way on earth she's racing her mum.

The 23-year-old, who has yet to compete in 2014, admits she's praying a recent virus won't kill off her hopes in the 3000 metres when she lines up in the heats on Friday in Sopot.

She proved a chip off the old block last summer by fighting through injury to reach the world steeplechase final - showing the kind of grit that took her mother Liz to a global title.

But even though track legend Liz is still is top shape, her daughter has written off the prospect of a family duel.

Eilish said: "We don't run together. She beat me when I was 14 when we did a couple of runs but since then we've done nothing.

"She stopped competing a long time ago and she's not interested in trying to take me on."

Eilish is one of five Scots bound for Sopot but she insists her priority is hitting top form for the Commonwealths.

She said: "Sopot was never in my plans really but it will give me an idea of where I am with one eye on the summer."
