Eiken Chemical Transfers Manufacturing and Marketing Rights of Two Contrast Agents to Guerbet Japan.
Tokyo, Japan, Oct 17, 2005 - (JCNN) - Eiken Chemical announced on October 17 that it has transferred the manufacturing and marketing rights to its two contrast agents, Hexabrix 320 for urography and angiography and Magnescope Syringe for MRI, to Guerbet Japan, a Japanese subsidiary of French contrast agent manufacturer Guerbet AG.With this move, Eiken Chemical aims to concentrate its management resources on the clinical diagnostic business while Guerbet will seek to increase its presence in Japan.
In line with Eiken Chemical's announcement, Tanabe Seiyaku, the current distributor of Hexabrix 320 and Magnescoep, announced on the same day that it has reached an agreement with Terumo, whereby it will transfer the sales of the two products to Terumo as of January 1, 2006.
