Ehrmanns shakes up management team and builds portfolio.

Fairtrade wine importer Ehrmanns has streamlined its management team and moved to smaller premises.

The company, which had its future secured when it was bought last July by wine investment fund Global Vintners, is now headed by former buying director Hugo Campbell, who has taken on the role of managing director.

National accounts manager Joy Edmondson has stepped into Campbell's shoes as buying director, while also continuing to look after the national accounts team. Kim Wilson, who was previously part of the national accounts team, has been promoted to off-trade sales director and Lenke Kiss has taken on the role of financial controller. Peter Dauthieu remains chairman.

At the same time, the company has vacated its Highbury offices after 22 years and moved to smaller premises in Primrose Hill, London, to reflect the size of its worforce, which has reduced nearly 50% to 19 people in the past year.

"There is an exciting period ahead for us in the ever-changing and challenging world of the UK wine trade," said Campbell.

"With the new offices, dynamic new brand acquisitions alongside longstanding supplier relationships and a new management team, we now have the foundations to adapt and succeed in what will be tough but hopefully rewarding times ahead for our customers, our suppliers and ourselves."

Last year's buyout allowed Ehrmanns to trade debt-free. It has since added a raft of names, including the Chilensis brand from Via Wines, the Cava agency of Juve'y Camps, Italian agency Stefano Girelli and Marlborough-based Wineco.
