Egged on to find the best brekkie; 7 DAYS FOOD & DRINK.

IMON STEGGLES loves breakfasts. I mean, this man really LOVES them.

So much so that he set up the Birmingham Breakfast Club, visiting a different venue with his pals every week - and cycling there and back to burn off the calories.

Over the last three years, Simon, from Sutton Coldfield, has visited hundreds of cafes, pubs and restaurants, tasting his way through Birmingham's breakfasts and scoring each one on a "fried egg scale" of 0 to 10.

We asked him to share his favourites...

BEST BREAKFAST OF 2015 - THE HIGH FIELD It's just class. Eggs poached to perfection, brilliant sausage and bacon, lovely toast (not standard sliced, which so many fall down on) and served in a perfect setting.

BEST BREAKFAST OF 2014 - YORKS BAKERY CAFE They did their own baked beans! The toast was beautiful sour dough and all the ingredients were superb. It's served in a skillet on a wooden board.

BEST BREAKFAST OF 2013 - THE DELI IN BOLDMERE Some of the best bread in Birmingham, plus great ingredients served at an independent deli in this suburb of Sutton.

BEST VEGGIE BREAKFAST - JUJU'S CAFE IN CANAL SQUARE I can't lie, I am not an expert in this area, but a friend of mine insists on the veggie option each time we go to JuJu's. It's a skillet of crushed hash browns with tomato, onion, mushroom and cheese, plus a couple of fried eggs on top.

BEST VALUE BREAKFAST - RAPHAEL'S IN WYLDE GREEN For PS6.95 it's cooked to perfection and is sizeable. You won't leave hungry. Its made with quality ingredients and served by passionate staff. Brilliant.

BEST BREAKFAST SERVICE - HYLTON CAFE IN THE JEWELLERY QUARTER Ten of us went, four were called Richard. The owner got each order correct and remembered each of our names (including Richard, Rich, Ricky and Ricardo - his choice of names, not ours). A decent full English breakfast, too. Excellent.

BEST GREASY SPOON - RYLAND CAFE OR MOSELEY STREET CAFE Ryland Cafe in Sutton is a greasy spoon of the highest order. The breakfast was just PS5 and I couldn't finish it. They do a PS10 version too if you're feeling ambitious.

Moseley Street Cafe in Digbeth does a good breakfast for PS4.95 including tea or coffee. Both are amazing value. There are cheaper greasy spoons, but none as good.

BEST ORGANIC BREAKFAST - LEVERTON AND HALLS IN BOURNVILLE. It's a tiny place that doubles up as a deli. It specialises in organic everything. Its definitely worth a trip out to try their breakfast. Simply lovely.

MEATIEST BREAKFAST - THE RED LION UAB (URBAN ARTS BAR) There are many reasons to go to the Red Lion (or its sister pub, the Lord Clifden UAB). The artwork is amazing but the food is absolutely on point. They have a breakfast that includes a 4oz steak which they have named 'The Brummie.'.

BeSt full iriSh BreakfaSt - Cafe opuS The team at Cafe Opus came up with the idea of a Full Irish breakfast as part of their St Patrick's Day celebrations.

It was brilliant! It even had a complimentary bottle of Guinness.

BEST QUIRKY BREAKFAST - BREWSMITHS CAFEe It's quirky for lots of reasons but I loved the idea of fresh sliced uncooked tomato on the plate and I loved the sausage patty too.

BEST BREAKFAST IN THE UK - THE WHITE POST IN YEOVIL I know it's a bit out of the way, but I have been there twice to enjoy the incredible breakfasts - and stayed over. It's perfection.
