Efforts must be made to make situations better: LHC CJ.

LAHORE -- Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah on Sunday said that members of society should come forward and play their effective role in ongoing reforms orchestrated in LHC and district courts.

He said this while addressing a ceremony organized by Society of Barristers at a local hotel.

LHC Chief Justice urged the female barristers to visit district courts and meet female judges to know the ground realities.

He said the barristers should come to Punjab Judicial Academy to deliver lectures. He was of the view that instead of criticising any situation we must contribute towards its betterment.

The chief justice apprised the members of barrister society about the activities of his recent visit to England.

Purpose of today's ceremony was to hold event in commemoration of inclusion of Chief Justice Lahore High Court in Society of Lincoln Inn as Honrary Master of Bench and installation of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah's bust in Licoln's Inn library.

Ceremony was executed in three phases. In first phase, speakers gave presentation of historical background of Lincoln Inns and Barrister in England.

In second phase, question and answer session was held in which the chief justice and judges while answering questions also spoke about IT enterprise system and case management system in

High Court, large pendency of case in district courts, shortage of judges, use of ADRs and infrastructure of district courts.

Justice Farrukh Irfan Khan, Justice Shahid Karim, Justice Abid Aziz Shiekh, Justice Shahram Sarwar Chaudhary and Justice Jawad Hassan were also present.
