Edward Howarth, 67.

PALMETTO, FL Edward Howarth, 67, passed away at home on June 7, 2011 in Palmetto, Florida after a courageous battle with lung and brain cancer.

He leaves his wife of 44 years, Paula (Jackson) Howarth; a daughter, Lisa and her husband Richard Welcome of Sturbridge, and a son, Edward Howarth Jr. of Auburn. He leaves four grandchildren: Jenna Lee Howarth, Jessica Lee Welcome, David Edward Howarth and Eric Michael Howarth. He also leaves his mother, Edna Howarth of Lakeland, Florida and three brothers: James Howarth of Holden, Richard Howarth of Auburn and John Howarth of Lakeland, Florida. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Howarth of Worcester and his father, Clarence Howarth.

Ed was born in Worcester, son of Clarence and Edna Howarth. He graduated from Worcester Boy's Trade School and served in the U.S. Army from 1965-1967. He worked as a welder and sheet metal worker for 31 years at Norton Co. in Worcester, MA. He also worked part time in the Brookfield Town Hall for 4 years after retiring from Norton Co.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and taking many cruises with his wife Paula.
