Edward St. John Gorey (February 22, 1925-April 15, 2000) was an American writer and artist noted for his illustrated books. His characteristic pen-and-ink drawings often depict vaguely unsettling narrative scenes in Victorian and Edwardian settings. "Edward Gorey: His Book Cover Art and Design" is a 128 page compendium showcasing Gorey's distinctive artwork. Enhanced with the inclusion of an informed and informative essay by Steven Heller (Co-Chair of the School of Visual Arts MFA Design / Designer as Author + Entrepreneur Program), "Edward Gorey: His Book Cover Art and Design" is very highly recommended for community and academic library 20th Century American Artist reference collections--as well as an inherently fascinating browse and a "must" for the legions of Edward Gorey enthusiasts.
