AUBURN -- Edward V. "Ted'' Elia, 91, of Auburn, died Monday, Dec. 29, after an illness.
He leaves his wife, Bette A. (King) Elia; four children, Craig D. Bylund and his fiancee, Lynn Garneau, of Auburn, Jeffrey J. Bylund of Auburn, April A. Bylund of Worcester and Julie M. Walsh and her husband, Timothy, of Auburn; eight grandchildren, Tony, Amanda, Nicholas, Erika, Bryanna, Emily, Karinna and Andrew; and three great-grandchildren, Mariah, Lilyana and Aria; a brother, Rocci A. Elia and his companion, Freida Burrell, of Lakeland, Fla.; a sister, Euphemia Parker and her husband, Richard, of Centerville and Lakeland, Fla.; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Francis Elia, and a sister, Julia Elia Harges.
Mr. Elia was born and raised in Clinton, son of the late Rosario and Mary (DeNapoli) Elia. He attended Clinton High School and then entered into the service, where he served honorably during World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corp.
He had worked for many years as a salesman for BASF until he retired. He then worked for Sam's Club until he decided to fully retire and enjoy gardening and watching after his grandchildren.
Funeral and burial services for Mr. Elia will be private.
