Education officials die in Helmand blast.

by Zainullah Stanikzai on 14 October, 2014 - 12:51 LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): A district education officer was killed along with a teacher in a roadside bombing in southern Helmand province on Monday. Omer Zwak, the governor's spokesperson, told Pajhwok Afghan News Shah Mehmood and the teacher were killed on their way to Nawzad district from Lashkargah. Maj. Farid Ahmed, police spokesman, confirmed the deaths. He told Pajhwok Afghan News militants had planted landmines in the area. Director of Education Abdul Mateen Jafar also confirmed the deaths of Shah Mehmood and Niamatullah, the teacher, in the explosion. dai/mud ( Read more )*****
