Turkish Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism (TURK-JEM) is a publication of The Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism of Turkey since 1997. The continuity of annually quarterly publications simply demonstrates the lull motivation of consecutive editorial boards towards full commitment of making the Journal last long while strongly underlining the quality issue. Current Editorial Board believes that time is right to raise the bar by applying to "Pubmed Central (PMC)" which will eventuate in 2014. We also share the common belief that the next effort after Pubmed Central (PMC)" will be towards SCI application.
Application to be scanned under "Pubmed Central (PMC) " asks for TURK-JEM to be published entirely in English plus increasing the number of articles accepted for publication. Thus we have the responsibility of making TURK-JEM to be known by more scholars with special emphasis to young scientists. We are expecting drastic increases in citation among the published articles under TURK-JEM.
In our June issue we will cover the following topics; Late-Onset Hypogonadism in Male Patients Over 60 Years of Age with Metabolic Syndrome, Depression, Anxiety and Quality of Life Among Adult Turkish Patients with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and the Relationship of Cardiovascular Disease Risk, Evaluation of Preventive Studies in Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus, Primary Thyroid Lymphoma Diagnosed During Pregnancy: A Case Report, 46, XX Male Syndrome, Bluish Discoloration with Thyrotoxicosis. Two of the studies are original work created by scholars towards the improvement of Endocrinology and Metabolism discipline.
The days ahead will be a challenge for everyone involved in the creation of TURK-JEM. I wish you a healthy, enjoyable and fruitful summer time.
With my highest regards,
