Editor's note/Billet de la redactrice en chef.

As this is being written in welcome to the Summer edition, the beautiful city of London, Ontario is enthusiastically preparing to welcome you to the 2013 National Conference and Annual General Meeting. There is an excellent line-up of speakers (one of whom, by the way, is Doug Williamson, who is a regular contributor to this magazine). At Saturday's Annual General Meeting, Dr. Matthew Jelavic, C.Mgr. will take office as the new National President. Also at the AGM, elections are scheduled to fill vacancies for two positions on the National Board. Thanks go to those members who have put their names forward in a show of commitment to devote their time and expertise to benefit CIM's members, and the organization in general.

Much is continuing to happen within the Institute as it restructures to improve service and benefits to its members. In Our Members Have Their Say (pp 14,15), the National Membership Committee is pleased to bring you the results of their on-line membership survey, designed to "explore the overall value of membership in the Institute".

While on the topic of benefits, I would like to remind you of a fairly recent members-only advantage. In collaboration with McGraw-Hill Ryerson, CIM is proud to offer its members a discounted price on a selection of book titles published by McGraw-Hill Ryerson. All you need to do is visit http://www.cim.ca/mcgrawhillbookstore and have your CIM membership login handy. Judith W. Umlas has written an article on 'grateful leadership' in this issue and we are pleased to inform you that you will find her book available through the above website.
