Welcome to the "2011 Features Spotlight Review".
The following pages look back at some of the key products and issues of 2011 at a time when UK manufacturing is being courted by Government, as a means of readdressing the balance of the UK economy from the present services bias of the last two decades towards a thriving manufacturing sector able to build on current innovative projects, as well as being able to target newer growth areas where the UK is well placed to take a global lead, such as energy renewables and other low carbon sectors. Many of the products reviewed also highlight these innovative projects and the newer growth areas, giving you the opportunity to see the future today. In a highly competitive market it is extremely exciting to see, among the following pages, how manufacturers have come up with numerous products that have adapted to the needs of industry, quietly following the Darwinian evolutionary approach of it's not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives, it's the one that is the most adaptable to change.
Looking ahead to 2012, Plant & Works Engineering will keep you informed of all the latest products hitting the market and keep you up-to-date with industry news, including key interviews and feature articles relevant to your industry, plus much more.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy Christmas and a prosperous 2012 from all the PWE team.
