Edinburgh leads the way in landscape architecture.

According to the results of the Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) 2008 published in December, the Edinburgh School of Architecture and landscape Architecture, which combines research from the University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh College of Art, leads Scotland in research in architecture, landscape architecture and the built environment.

The joint submission to RAE 2008 by University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh College of Art is ranked first in architecture in Scotland (and 7th in the UK).

Within UK architecture and landscape architecture the joint school ranks second in terms of volume of quality research, after University College London.
