Romance will be in the air on Monday night when the Earth will move between the sun and the moon to create a partial lunar eclipse.
August is always the perfect month to look up to the sky and romanticise but this August 7 both Limassol and Nicosia will be celebrating the magic of the night sky with sky gazing events.
In Nicosia, the place to be at 9.20pm -- which is the peak of the partial lunar eclipse -- is Acropolis park and in Limassol the gathering place is the Promenade, opposite the Blue Cafe.
The only partial eclipse for this year will start at 8.25pm, as the moon rises, while the full glory of the night will be visible at 9.20pm.
The event in Nicosia is organised by the Cyprus Astronomy Organisation, while the Limassol one is being held thanks to the House of Science. These organisations will be bringing along their telescopes so we can get an even closer look at the phenomenon. If you have any binoculars bring them along too. You can also ask the experts any astrological questions.
Both events are free and the Limassol night sky can also be enjoyed on a big screen while relaxing music will be played. The perfect scene for romance and even a marriage proposal or maybe just a request to go steady.
