Eckart elected as public member of AICPA board.

Dennis E. Eckart, a former member of Congress from Ohio, was elected by the AICPA governing council to serve as a public member of the Institute's board of directors. His term will extend through October 1995.

During his 12 years in the U.S. House of Representatives, Eckart served as a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee, which oversees the accounting profession, and the Small Business Committee. In announcing the election, AICPA board chairman Jake L. Netterville said, "The AICPA is honored to have former Congressman Eckart join our board. His broad legislative, political, legal and business knowledge will assist us greatly in clarifying issues and achieving objectives critical to the. accounting profession."
