DEVOTED Mariela Helmsley splashed out more than PS1,000 on a giant bespoke birthday cake and goodie bags for overexcited guests at a first birthday party - for her DOG! Mariela booked a luxury dog hotel for the day to lay on a bash for her labradoodle Brosko and 17 of his closest chums.

DAVID Haye snapped for the second time in the bitter and acrimonious build-up to his heavyweight showdown with Tony Bellew. With just days left until their heavyweight grudge match at the O2 Arena, Haye appeared rattled by taunts from the crowd at the Liverpool Hilton Hotel.

PUPILS at Holy Cross Catholic Primary School enjoyed a hearty plate of scouse, as Liverpudlians around the world marked Global Scouse Day. Cllr Nick Small joined the children as they tucked in to their tasty treats.

BEBINGTON was named the best place to live and work in England. A report by the Centre for Economics and Business Research said Bebington came out on top thanks to reasonable working hours, green spaces and good schools.
