Eazyfone partners with Argos for mobile phone recycling.
TELECOMWORLDWIRE-1 February 2006-Eazyfone partners with Argos for mobile phone recycling(C)1994-2006 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com
A high street mobile phone recycling campaign has been introduced in the UK by multi-channel retailer Argos Retail Group and Eazyfone Group, a mobile phone recycling company in the UK and owner of envirofone.
The envirofone.com campaign, the first of its kind in the UK, pays the consumer the present market value for their traded in old mobile, while making a charity donation to Help the Hospices, the Argos corporate charity. Consumers are given cash or a credit at Argos stores and recycling envelopes will be available in the UK's 626 Argos stores for those purchasing a new mobile phone from the store.
Eazyfone will make a donation whenever a mobile phone of any condition or age is donated to Argos in one of the available bags, and for working mobile phones traded in through envirofone, when the charity is selected as the beneficiary.
More than 10m mobile phones are thrown away in the UK every year and all mobiles collected through the campaign will be re-used wherever possible, often in areas with poor landline infrastructure and high mobile phone demand.
Eazyfone Group is expecting to donate GBP30,000 to Help the Hospices and the 236 local hospices supported during the launch year, as a result of the Argos partnership. Consumers can find out how much their old mobiles are worth at www.envirofone.com.
