US-based power management company Eaton has forged a collaboration with the American Society for Healthcare Engineering to highlight the critical power management solutions helping the healthcare industry safeguard patients and data, the company said on Tuesday.

Under the plan, Eaton will develop in-depth technical, thought leadership content focused on advancing energy efficiency and power resiliency through lighting, critical power and building efficiency solutions transforming healthcare environments.

As part of the collaboration, Eaton will publish two white papers and webinars on modern power management approaches to achieving resiliency and advancing energy efficiency.

Eaton will provide guidance on how to construct or retrofit critical electrical infrastructure, while supporting always-on power, even in the event of a major storm or power outage.

Additionally, Eaton will provide in-depth information on how to implement LED lighting and integrated control platforms, ranging from multi-facility campuses to single outpatient providers.

Eaton will also develop Performance Improvement Measures to support ASHE's Sustainability Roadmap for Hospitalsand the Energy to Care programme.

The resources will provide ASHE members with free, practical tools to better understand how to reduce their energy costs and environmental footprint. Eaton's

ASHE is a personal membership group of the American Hospital Association. More than 11,000 members count ASHE as a key source of professional development, industry information, and advocacy, including representation on key issues that affect their work in the physical health care environment.

Eaton's electrical business offers products in power distribution and circuit protection; backup power protection; control and automation; lighting and security; structural solutions and wiring devices; solutions for harsh and hazardous environments; and engineering services.
