Eating Disorders Clinic Opens New State-of-the-Art Facility in Bellevue.

The Moore Center opens new 15,000-square-foot comprehensive treatment facility for eating disorders

BELLEVUE, Wash. -- The eastside is now home to the most comprehensive, cutting-edge treatment facility for eating disorders in the state. The Moore Center, Washington's longest-established treatment center for eating disorders, announced today the opening of its new state-of-the-art treatment facility in Bellevue.

"We are very excited to announce the opening of our new center," said Dr. Mehri Moore, founder and medical director of The Moore Center. "The new facility is outfitted with all of the latest technology and provides our patients with a natural and peaceful treatment environment where recovery can be achieved."

The new 15,000-square-foot facility features two fully functional demonstration kitchens, a serene dining room, art studio, yoga studio, medical exam rooms and a classroom.

The National Eating Disorders Association reports that twenty-four million Americans suffer from an eating disorder and this number is currently on the rise. The expanded facility will improve access to care for the local community by reducing the waiting list for treatment and allow the center to offer more program tracks tailored to patient age.

The Moore Center offers a full continuum of eating disorder care for adolescents and adults including a Partial Hospitalization Program, Intensive Outpatient Program, several step-down programs and an overnight residential annex that sleeps six people.

"At The Moore Center we embrace our patients with the belief that everyone deserves recovery," said Dr. Moore. "Over the years we have been inspired by their resilience and have enhanced our programs by listening to their needs."

In order to meet the changing needs of patients, The Moore Center has also expanded its staff which now includes over 40 experienced and dedicated team members who create individualized treatment plans for each patient that address their fundamental biological, psychological and social needs.

"We find that we not only treat the patient but also their families," added Moore. "We provide the families with education, support and guidance so they can play an active role in the patients' recovery process."

The center first opened its doors in 1991 and its staff has more than 85 years of combined experience treating eating disorders. Since the center opened 21 years ago, Dr. Moore and her staff have treated more than 5,000 patients.
