Eateries aim to takeaway food award.

FOOD fans are being urged to get behind their favourite eaterie as the search for the country's best takeaway gets under way.

Just Eat is calling on people to vote for their favourite fast food joint in the National Takeaway Awards.

The awards recognise quality of food, choice and service and there are more than 21 categories to choose from - plus the chance to win a free meal for a year.

Edel Kinane of Just Eat said: "The awards launched a week ago and already 2,000 votes have been received.

"The range of takeaway options available means there really is something for everyone, from dietary requirements to time of day."
