Eastman opens Lab in China.

Eastman Chemical Company, TN, has opened the Eastman China Lab in the Pudong New Development Area of Shanghai. The laboratory will be used to develop new product formulations and performance-enhancing applications for Eastman's North Asia-based customers, with the anticipation that it will expand to support Eastman's presence in other regions as well. It currently has a staff of eight full-time scientists and engineers. "The China Lab represents Eastman's latest commitment to the Chinese market," said Greg O Nelson, Eastman's chief technology officer and senior vice president.
